FORM is a movement studio in Ancoats, Manchester. This page explains what personal information we collect when you book a class, join the mailing list or get in touch, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it properly.
Who we are
FORM Studio, 8 Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester M4 5AS.
We are the data controller for the information described on this page. You can reach us at hello@formstudio.uk or on 0161 496 0000.
What we collect
When you book a class we collect your name, email address, phone number and the classes you attend. Payments are handled by our booking provider — we never see or store your card details.
If you join the mailing list we hold your email address and the date you subscribed. If you email us or fill in a form, we hold whatever you chose to tell us.
We also collect basic information about how the website is used — pages visited, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. This is only collected if you agree to it when you first visit.
Why we hold it
To run your bookings and let you into the classes you have paid for. To answer you when you get in touch. To send the newsletter, if you asked for it. And to understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve them.
We rely on our contract with you for bookings, your consent for marketing and analytics, and our legitimate interest in running the studio for everything else.
Who else sees it
Our booking platform, our email provider and our website analytics each process some of this information on our behalf, under contract. Our accountants see transaction records where the law requires it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for six years, because tax law requires it. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Anything else is kept only as long as it is useful, and reviewed each year.
Cookies
The site sets a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to work at all, and these cannot be turned off. Anything beyond that — analytics, and any embedded content that tracks you — is only set once you have agreed.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can withdraw consent for marketing or analytics whenever you like, and object to us using your information in other ways.
We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled something you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged by email to anyone on the mailing list.
Asking us something
Email hello@formstudio.uk, call 0161 496 0000, or speak to whoever is on the desk. We would rather answer a question than have you guess.
